The East Coast Greenway began with a small group of big-picture people imagining a 3,000-mile route of protected bike and walking paths extending the length of the Eastern Seaboard. It's a tale of collaboration and shared vision, working with volunteers and officials at the local, state, regional, and national level.
And it's a story of people and communities enjoying the public health, environmental, and economic benefits of safe, popular, and easily accessed greenways. News of the exciting growth and promise of the East Coast Greenway has been shared by media outlets from The Washington Post and Esquire to Conde Nast Traveler and USA Today.

Serious adventurers can bike their whole state, or even take on the entire length over the course of several weeks."
